Summer 2025 Internship @ Bank of Ireland Paris Offices

This Summer Finance Gaining Professional Experience đź’Ľ AI / ML

Over the past weeks, I had the privilege of completing my second internship with the Bank of Ireland in Paris, working in their Leveraged Acquisition Finance offices. Building on my earlier experience, this longer internship gave me a much deeper insight into the fast-paced world of acquisition financing—yet it still felt too short, as the time passed incredibly quickly.

I had the opportunity to support analysts and associates with due diligence processes and to prepare concise reports summarizing key findings and recommendations. Through these tasks, I not only sharpened my technical and analytical skills but also learned how to distill large amounts of complex information into clear, actionable insights—something that is at the heart of good financial decision-making.

Another valuable aspect of this internship was the chance to continue exploring how artificial intelligence can enhance financial workflows. I researched the potential of large language model (LLM)-powered tools to streamline information gathering and analysis, and gained a clearer sense of both their possibilities and their limitations in real-world financial settings. This strengthened my conviction that technology will play a transformative role in the industry, but only when paired with the judgment and expertise of experienced professionals.

Above all, what made the experience so rewarding was the team itself. I greatly enjoyed collaborating with and learning from such talented, generous, and supportive colleagues, whose guidance turned every task into an opportunity to grow. I leave this internship deeply grateful for the trust and responsibility I was given, and inspired to keep building on these lessons as I continue my academic and professional journey.
